Store Payments

How store payments and transactions work

The Castdeck store is built so that creators are the sellers and Castdeck operates the platform. All payments are processed on Stripe — Paddle is never used in the store.

Powered by StripeEach creator is the seller of their store items. Checkout is processed by Stripe; Castdeck is not the seller, and Paddle is not used in the store.

Who does what

Store transaction flow: the buyer pays via Stripe, funds go directly to the creator, Castdeck receives only the platform fee and issues the license.

Creator (seller)

The seller of record for their items. Sets prices, sells, and handles refunds. Completes Stripe identity verification (KYC) before listing.

Buyer

Purchases items directly from the creator through Stripe’s secure checkout.

Castdeck

Operates the platform: listing review, license management, and store features. Never the seller, and never holds the purchase funds.

Stripe

The payment infrastructure that processes payments, pays out to creators, and performs identity verification (KYC).

Buying flow

  1. Pick an item in the app or on the web store
  2. Pay through Stripe checkout (the creator is the seller)
  3. A license is issued instantly and the item is ready in the in-app Store tab
  4. Your receipt is issued by Stripe under the creator’s name
  5. If something is wrong, the creator and Castdeck handle it under the refund policy

How the money flows

Platform fee (tiered)

The platform fee decreases as a creator’s sales grow. The rate is locked at the tier in effect at the time of sale. Stripe processing fees apply separately.

Refunds and the platform fee

Becoming a seller

  1. Connect a Stripe account from the creator dashboard and complete identity verification (KYC)
  2. Submit your item for Castdeck’s format and safety review
  3. Go live. Your earnings are paid out directly by Stripe

Where Paddle fits

Paddle (Merchant of Record) is used exclusively for the Castdeck Pro subscription. It is never involved in store transactions — purchases, listings, or payouts.

FAQ

Whose name is on the receipt?

The creator’s — they are the seller of record. The receipt is issued by Stripe.

Does Castdeck sell any items itself?

No. Every store item is sold by its creator. Castdeck is never the seller.

How are taxes handled?

Sales are the creator’s own revenue, to be reported under the rules of their own country or region.
